Clyde May's 110 Proof Conecuh Ridge Whiskey
Nose is loaded with caramel, apple, vanilla and cinnamon. Palate consists of butterscotch, baked apples and sweet oak. This whiskey has a medium long smooth sweet finish with notes of caramel apple and spice left lingering on the tongue.
Clyde May was an Alabama farmer and WWII veteran who turned to illegal whiskey making to supplement his income…and learned a thing or two about craft distilling. In 2002, Clyde’s son Kenny decided to revive the family business and open a distillery. Conecuh Ridge is in southern Alabama, near the Florida panhandle. It’s reportedly where at one point the heaviest concentration of moonshine activity in the U.S. was taking place.
