Clyde May's Cask Strength 9 Year Whiskey is complex and uncommonly smooth at 117 proof. Finishing it in the Alabama style, rounds out and even softens the bold flavors into a surprisingly smooth finish.
Clyde May was an Alabama farmer and WWII veteran who turned to illegal whiskey making to supplement his income…and learned a thing or two about craft distilling. In 2002, Clyde’s son Kenny decided to revive the family business and open a distillery. Conecuh Ridge is in southern Alabama, near the Florida panhandle. It’s reportedly where at one point the heaviest concentration of moonshine activity in the U.S. was taking place.
