Lincourt Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay Wine
Wine Type: White Wines
Varietal Type: Chardonnay
Region: Santa Barbara County
Winery: Lincourt Vineyards
Lincourt Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay is both lively and concentrated with aromatics of kiwi, mandarin zest, and honeycomb. The palate is crisp and minerally with notes of lemon and green apple. This stainless steel Chardonnay is perfect as an aperitif or accompanying grilled chicken or fresh fish.
The grapes were handpicked in the cool, early morning hours to retain fruit integrity. After whole cluster pressing, the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks using a special yeast strain that is ideal for cool-climate Chardonnay. To emphasize freshness, varietal purity and regional character, malolactic fermentation was prevented.
When Bill Foley founded Lincourt in 1996, the Santa Rita Hills region of Santa Barbara County was largely undiscovered. Today it is one of California’s most coveted, cool-climate, viticultural regions. Lincourt wines are produced entirely from their two estate vineyards within the AVA. They are rolling, hillside sites that offer "limiting" soils, large diurnal temperature swings, and long, long growing seasons. Their wines are rich, structured, fruit forward, and regionally exact. To ensure the vitality of their land and the authenticity of their wines, they use sustainable methods in all of their farming, winemaking, and business practices.
